Learning to crawl, Born to Run

Watching my 16wk old straining to reach the toy in front of her… She knows what she wants but can’t quite reach it. In time this will be too easy, no challenge at all. She is starting to crawl, but she was born to run.

Do you ever feel like this? Maybe you struggle with a particular sin, or can’t shake a bitter attitude in your heart. Maybe you wrestle with a condition that seems pointless. You want to give up. You want to give in. You’re tired. What’s the use?baby learning to crawl

Don’t give up! You are doing it. You can’t see it, you may feel defeated, but something amazing is happening in you…

Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. 17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, 18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. (2 Corinthians 4:16-18)

It may all seem pointless, you’ve failed before, you may fail again. The situation is not baby reachingchanging nor getting better. But it’s ok. Really. Please keep getting up, keep dusting yourself off. Keep trying. It’s like we are in training. Something is happening and one day we will see it.

That helpless baby is going to Run.
